Ballet Exam Pianist

Miss Ruth plays the piano for some of our exam classes

Ruth has been accompanying ballet classes since 2005. She has played for RAD examinations up to Grade 8 and Advanced 2 in dance schools throughout the county. She also plays the flute and has played with various local orchestras, and sings with Chiara (a semi-local ad hoc choir for female voices).

Ruth was herself a pupil at Welland with Anne Desbruslais, reaching vocational level in ballet, tap and modern theatre. She took her Grade 8 flute and piano exams whilst at school and then went on to Bristol University to read for a BSc Psychology. Ruth also has an MA in Music and an ABRSM Diploma. She lives in Rutland and, as well as playing for classes and exams at the Welland School, Ruth is Head of Music at Leicester High School for Girls and Director of Music at St Augustine’s Catholic church
