ISTD Modern Theatre

By this stage many pupils will have come up through previous grades although new pupils and complete beginners are very welcome. Following on from ISTD Grades 1-3 the knowledge and skills gained through completion of Grades 4 and 5 provide a base for continued progression through the Graded syllabus into Grade 6, or to prepare the candidate for Vocational Grades, Intermediate and Advanced 1. The underlying philosophy of Grades 4 and 5 is to expand upon the foundations nurtured in Pre-Primary and Primary and Grades 1-3, providing students with a sequential syllabus that will promote a developmentally appropriate and sound technique for modern dance, unpinning secure technique including core stability, weight placement, sufficient lines, whilst continuing to nurture the students musicality awareness. 

UNIFORM

For Grades 4-6 ISTD Modern and Tap, children should wear a red lycra leotard with black stirrup leggings.
